Cancel Absentee Ballot or Mail-In Ballot for 2021 Primary Election

If you are a registered voter in Centre County and have requested to receive an absentee ballot or a mail-in ballot for the 2021 Primary Election but would prefer to vote in-person on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, you can request to cancel your absentee ballot or mail-in ballot.

The Centre County Board of Elections has created a process whereby voters can send a letter to the Elections & Voter Registration Office via email or mail to request to cancel their absentee ballot or mail-in ballot application.

letter template (.docx) and a sample letter (.pdf) are provided for voters to use and review.

In order to cancel your absentee or mail-in ballot request for the 2021 Primary Election please follow the instructions below.

  1. If you are unsure if you requested a vote-by-mail ballot for the 2021 Primary Election, you can confirm here.
  2. Download the letter template (.docx).
  3. Return the completed letter to the Centre County Elections & Voter Registration Office by email or mail. Both the email and mailing address are included in the letter template (.docx).
  4. The Centre County Elections & Voter Registration Office will confirm the cancellation of your vote-by-mail request for the 2021 Primary Election to you through email or mail.

If the Pennsylvania Department of State creates a form to allow voters to cancel their vote-by-mail ballot, the Centre County Board of Elections will post that form on this web page. All previous requests using the Template Letter developed by Centre County will still be accepted and valid.
